Genre Research: Action

This powerpoint I did was a in-depth research on the conventions of the genre action. I learned what these genres tend to have in their films/movies. For example, I learned about settings, lighting, camera angles, and many more things. The whole purpose of the powerpoint was to research the topic and put it all in one place. A place where it will stay organized and give me all the information I need with quick easy access. This genre is one of the most popular out of all the different kinds of genres. Some example films of this genre include Black Panthers, Mission: Impossible, and Avengers: Endgame. Common camera angles used in these type of films are low angle, high angle, and dutch angle. Each angle is unique in its own way. They help with giving a type of feeling when a person is watching a film. Common lighting used is: side lighting, backlighting, ambient lighting, and high key lighting. These lightings help tribute also to the mood of the scene. Common Mise-En-Scene include costumes, props, lighting, and makeup. For example in the movie Wonder Woman, the actor is wearing a costume that represent her character wonder woman. This genre includes films that contain high energy/activity, races, battles, in general a lot of action. Action tends to be a genre a lot of people favor. I like this genre because it is highly entertaining. A good action movie will never leave you disappointed. One thing I didn't like was that this genre can promote a lot of violence. Children tend to watch action movies and they might want to mimic the actors actions.
