Editing Blog: The process of editing my Gatorade Commercial
The first thing I did was to transfer all of the videos from my phone to my laptop. Then I opened up IMovie which is the program that I will be editing my commercial in. I loaded all the scenes and put them in the order they are suppose to be in. The first issue I saw was that my commercial had passed the 30 second limit. I didn't get to worried because it was only a couple of seconds and I knew that when I added transitions the time was going to go down. Also, my backup plan was just to crop the videos to the shortest length I could possibly have. So, the first thing I did after I loaded all the videos on my editing program was adding the transitions. After the transition I took out the sound for most of the clips. I added sound to the clips to create the mood I wanted. For example in the clip that my cousin is running through the drill I put a intense beat type of sound to makes the sense of intensity since she was running through the gatorades. After the sound, in the clips I left the original sound in, I fixed up the background noise. Also, for some clips I raised the sound so you can hear the original sound better. For the lighting I used natural lighting but in one clip I made it appear more brighter. In the commercial there were three clips that were very choppy. I had to go back and really spend time fixing them. I had to crop the video out to very specific spots and then add really nice transitions that went with the flow of how the clip is going. After taking a lot of time trying to really clean up the choppiness I managed to clean it up. After I completed all my editing I was very satisfied. But, I did have to go back and crop down some clips shorter. I made the exact 30 second limit and the commercial was actually nice.
